Astrology Corner - May 2025 on Cancer, Leo & Virgo

Last month we discussed the first three signs of the Zodiac and how Vedic astrology uses a different Zodiac than Western astrology which causes – about 80% of the time - your sun sign to be the sign prior to the one you thought it was. This means, for example, if you were born in the first half of September, your sun sign is Leo, the sign prior to Virgo, instead of Virgo. Feel free to refer to the April 2025 post to look at the chart and find out what your Vedic sun sign is based on your birthday. We will now discuss the next three constellations. As you read these, keep in mind that these are pure archetypes: any given sign can act like something else depending on where all the other planets are in the chart and how they affect each other.

CANCER is symbolized by the crab and is ruled by the Moon. It is the sign of seeking security and stability in life and has energy related to emotions, nurturing, caring, acting maternal, and exchanging feelings on an intimate level. It can be a sensitive sign and prefers the home and family environment. Every sign has a high and a low vibration as we all have good and bad days. The high vibration of Cancer is related to nurturing and motherly qualities, the low vibration relates to moodiness.

LEO is symbolized by the lion and is ruled by the Sun. It is the sign of pride, confidence, and self-respect. It has energy related to being expressive and creative, a strong self and leadership qualities, and power and dignity. Leo can enjoy being the center of attention. They have creative energy and can be dramatic, identifying with their ‘story’. They are career orientated and aim for high achievement. Their high vibration relates to leadership and vision, the low vibration relates to disappointment from not achieving lofty dreams.

VIRGO is symbolized by the virgin and is ruled by Mercury. It is the sign of analysis and has energy relating to being an organizer, neat, compartmentalization, and categorizing. They have good memories and an eye for detail. Their detail orientation can be perceived as critical, fussy, and worrisome or anxious, especially in relationships. They understand the mechanics of language, are good speakers and writers. They like to be pragmatic. Their high vibration relates to critical thinking and serving in a practical way, the low vibration relates to perfectionism and having anxiety around that.
